Default XC60 Replacement Radio to get DAB

If you are buying a cheaper XC60 the DAB radio is an expensive option as you have to upgrade the whole system as well.

If you don't buy the DAB upgrade is the radio as fitted a standard size that will allow a visit to a car radio shop in a few years & a quick clean fitting, IF they switch off FM, or will it be a much more difficult job as the existing bits are non standard size/fitting?

I ask as very few car radios fitted by manufacturers look anything like the same size as those sold in the aftermarket yet presumably they are fitted to such vehicles.

Something like this will probably be the cheapest and easiest way to convert to DAB:

http://www.radioworld.co.uk/~radio/c...or-p-6314.html

Almost all car audio systems these days are unique fit and coded to the car they are in to reduce theft.

Cheers,
John

Great Idea .... but this does somewhat defeat one of the great benefits of having DAB (sound quality) by having to tune it to your FM radio
