Default Autocar on the V70

Autocar like the new V70:

No doubt they will do a full test at some point and criticise it for "washing out into understeer too early on the track", but at the moment they seem pretty happy

Cheers,
John

The T6 power figures seem a bit low for my liking and for some of its competition. For a twin turbo I'd expect a fair bit more (at least 340ish bhp) but the torque figure at 295ft/lbs is definately low. Looks wise it still isn't striking to any extent, at least SAAB are trying to a an extent. At least it retains the big comfy aspect with sharper dynamics which is a good thing.

Hi,

The claim that it is Volvos B-I-G estate is also a little misleading, given that the V70 is now one of the smallest estates from the big makers...!!!

Indeed, the V70 has lost it's selling point. Volvo really need to cop on. They need to understand that the market is more competive nowadays and they can't offer second rate cars at first rate prices.

They V70 should have been called the V90 because apparently there is going to be an estate variant of the next S60. If they call that the V60, that will break Volvo's rule of naming estates and coupes/convertibles odd numbers and saloons even numbers.
