Default Trim levels?

I'm very interested in buying an S80 D5 diesel, but was wondering about the various trim levels.... What trim levels are available, and what is the difference between each? I'm probably looking at a 2002-2003 car for my budget, so any help would be appreciated

I've seen S, SE, TD etc etc, but I have no idea what the difference is between them - Anyone care to explain please?

Regards
Eddy

There's all sorts of differences, the SE is the top spec for those years (though you might find the odd Executive model). Thing is, that all sorts of options and packs were available so ideally you need to lay your hands on a brochure covering those years. But, buying secondhand over a couple of years old there won't be much difference in cost - go for the best you find. Check out the Volvo secondhand car site, the listings there may help you idenitfy some of the variations available.

Main advice, is do not buy anything that shows any sign of warning messages or lights regradless of what the seller might tell you!

PS: you posted in the 2007 model year on forum.

Thanks guys.... I realised I'd posted in the wrong area as soon as I'd done it. Hopefully one of the Mods or Admins will move my original post into a more suitable area?

As Paul mentioned brochures for the 2002-2003 year range, does anyone have copies that they could scan and send me via email or snail mail? It would certainly help a great deal in sorting out this potential minefield!

if you're a VOC member, e-mail me (address in DRIVER) with club number and I'll search my loft for something to scan.

Otherwise, often notice brouchures on ebay for sale, or just go into a dealer and have a chat!
