Default Leaves in heater fan

I think there may be some of those needle things off of pine trees in the heater fan on my 940. If you put the fan on it makes a ticking noise rather like the wheel of fortune. The faster the speed the more the ticking noise. And annoyingly if you have the fan off the airflow does spin it slowly, so you still get a tick tick tick noise.

So how do you get into the fan to clean them out? Thanks

Really easy.
Remove the cover over the feet area.
Remove one small screw at the side of the blower housing
Tilt the blower a few degrees, it will fall out.
Good luck, Kay

Mine is rhd, but I imagine it will be the same side on a lhd car too. I think the under dashboard layout is probably the same?

Its passenger side. I removed glove box as I replaced the fan. When they start failing it's more like a chirping noise which is very annoying

Having said that mine was pretty much drowned out by the Chinook helicopter in the back ( failing in tank fuel pump )

As they say you can access without removing glovebox. Think I removed mine as its easier access

The pedals hang down from behind the instruments - think about that and there's no way they can be the same under-dash layout.

It is as Mark says, passenger side or in the UK on a normal RHD car, the left.

Granted it might have been easier if i'd just said "passenger side" in the first place as that would have been correct, however on another forum we have several members with LHD cars and some things swap "mirror image", others don't so i get used to asking LHD or RHD if it's not obvious.

Also living about 40 miles south from you in an area where about half of all the cars i see locally are LHD, to me it's an obvious question.
