In 18" yeah.
You can get more comfort if you drop wheel size. |

I got four brand new 245/40/18's fitted today. I went for a budget brand (Apanya),as I don't do major miles. The noise level seems good & the car drives nice with the wider wheel. £240 fitted & balanced.

Tyre issue resolved
OK, so I replaced my 2 rear tyres with the correct 245/40 R18 size so I could pass the annual safety check . (NZ WOF)
Whilst at the tyre place I pointed out the front being a slightly different size (235/40 R18) and the tyre shop guy said that given the small difference in size not to worry and just to wear out the front tyres as is and then replace them with the correct size next time around. The car drives and handles fine and I don't believe there is any safety issue from such a small variation between front and rear tyres Sold the car this weekend anyway. Now my wife is driving an XC60 with 4 new matching tyres.
