Default 2015 V60 Cross Country Security

Last night someone had a crack at getting into my car last night. I have the none Keyless entry which requires the key fob for locking and unlocking. How easy is it lift a V60 without the key fob?
Luckily, apart from a slight bit of paint chipping no damage has been done but with the deadlocks on can the Door be opened if they can access the locking buttons on the inside? The cars an Auto AWD so even with the handbrake off they’re still gunna struggle to move the car I would have thought.

Interesting. Sorry to hear they had a go. How bad is the paint chipping? At home or while out?
You could sit in the car and lock it with the fob then pull then handle?
Surely with alarms and electronics these days the dead bolts would have prevented any but the most skilled or most determined of thieves.
Being an auto should make it damned difficult I would hope?

Very very slight chipping on the black window surrounds I'm glad to say and outside my house. We have a lot of students living in our street so pizza deliveries, cars returning, drunk students etc at all hours of the night, you stop listening out for stuff as time goes on. I’m hoping my car is a PITA to thieve. Trouble is what they damage and take if they gain entry

The deadlock prevents the door from being opened from the inside.
The locking buttons on the inside do not work when the car is turned off.

Thus any access to the interior via e.g. a broken window still means that no doors can be opened.

With regard to the deadlocks, I think until the car is "unlocked" with the fob they remain on. If the car is not unlocked, but the ignition is powered up with the key with the correct transponder chip in it - I think the interior button to unlock will then work. So to answer your question more directly - no they need the key before they can open the doors.

The main way in which cars are stolen now is to use a transmitter and receiver to make the car think the key is just by the door and hence the keyless system will allow it to be unlocked. These often work when people keep the keys close to their front door and hence the signal can be picked up and relayed. You can prevent this by keeping the key away from the perimeter walls of your house and/or in a "faraday wallet"

Good, that’s excellent news. There’s nothing left in display in the car due to it being street parked at night, very frustrating.
