xc60 drive e 2010 timing belt and aux belt
hi all.... hope im in the right place.....im struggling to find the right info anywhere. i have a diesel 2.4 xc60 drive e bought in 2010. its just hit 108,000miles. from what ive gathered it needs a new timing belt and aux belt. the local garage can change this for me, but from doing more research iv found people saying that you need to change the pullys for the aux belt aswell. but the garage is just recommending changing the belt. elsewhere if read that there are two aux belts.... upper and lower.... ? im just at a loss as to know what should be done. can anyone offer me a definitive guide as to what needs replacing so that i can ask for it all to be done at the same time.
many thanks for any help |

change belts and tensioners, I have experienced the pain of a snapped belt destroying the whole top end, suffice to say tensioner not changed with belt. Lesson learnt and yes two belts for the aux. |

remember the Aux Belt tensioner bolt must be 25 nm tell who ever is doing it ... if it snaps your engine is wrecked .. That is why i would always recommend someone with experience of this job to do it . I had better mention that the 4 crankshaft pulley bolts must be renewed too , and they are angle torqued which may be another unfamiliar job to some people .
