Default Tyre pressures

XC60 D4 2 wheel drive. 235/65 R18.
Volvo suggest 35psi normal or 39psi fully loaded.
What's the general consensus on the best pressure setting?

I’ve the same model and find my tyres wear in the centres at these pressures. I’ve dropped the pressure to 32psi.

35psi, unloaded.

Why argue against millions of Swedish Crowns invested in research and development?

I'm not arguing at all but I know owners play around with tyre pressures so just wanted opinions ....

Keep mine on the hard side 39psi as I tow much of the time. In fact I have been quite impressed with the even wear at this pressure. Rears with my VEA FWD 181 are simply trailing so last for ages. Having said that it's rather strange however that the rear pads wear at twice the rate of the front pads. Currently on Goodyear Wranglers which are great for grip but do drone a little on smooth macadam.
I'm going to try the Michelin Cross Climates next change to see if they are any quieter.

I run mine at 34.5 normally and put it up to 37 when fully loaded with people and luggage.

Electric handbrake the probable cause I think same pads used for handbrake and braking in the fears.

Interested in how you find the cross climates as when my oem contis need replacing I might do for cross climates and not bother with winters

I've just replaced my Pirellis with cross climates - much quieter.
