1963 Volvo P1800 Light Switch Wiring
Good afternoon,
I am new to this group. I purchased a '63 1800 back in 2011. I pretty much took the entire car apart. I sat at a paint and body shop for just over 7 years. I got the car back 2 summers ago and started putting it back together. I now just purchased a universal wiring harness from Painless and am planning on installing it next week. I have some questions on the main light switch and the wiper switch. Both are the Lucas original switches. Can someone help me out with where the wires connect to on the switches themselves. The light switch has a total of 5 wires: Red-Green, Red-White, Blue, Red, and Brown. Is the switch on the left the light switch? Is the switch on the right the wiper switch? Or do I have them mixed up? The wires that go to the wiper switch are: Green, Yellow, Black, LightGreen-Black, and another green I believe. Does someone have a picture of their switches wired? A few pictures
In reading a different post I learned that in order to upload pictures they need to be smaller. I am going to try and upload some.

The pictures do show some good work on your P1800.
Sorry I cannot help directly as I have never worked on that series of Volvo. However there is always this link http://www.volvoclubthailand.com/cgi...87902009/23#23 which has a number of P1800 service type manuals (Section 23 - a good way down the list). Good luck and keep up the good work.

I have one of these, extremely easy to follow and very helpful on many occasions. I suppose that if your going to a new harness, then it may not be helpful in the future.

Thank you c1800, I actually purchased one of the color coded diagrams, just so I could have it handy while i'm working on it.
