Default Icarsoft Diagnostics

Hi all,

Does anyone have any views on the merits of the icarsoft i906 versus their Vol V1.0 model? I recently ordered a i906 but they sent the V1.0 instead - "free upgrade" they called it. The 906 has excellent reviews, but I can't find anything on the V1.0, hence my inquiry here.

Thanks!

Why not ask the seller?

They've sent you something different to what you ordered so ask them to explain the "upgrade" difference.

^^^ as above, the V1 is the new model, i906 discontinued, V2 has the same ultimate functionality, but has better menus and looks flasher.

Well it sucks. Never buy any "x.0" version. Buggy. Very, very buggy.
If they'd had the common courtesy to ask me, I'd have said a very firm "NO!"

I've got the V2. It's brilliant. What's wrong with your V1?

In a nutshell, it only seems to be able to provide information on a limited number of the car's systems and of those few systems it can only provide very basic info such as the hardware serial numbers of the various modules. When asked for detailed info on any particular system, I invariably get a 'link error' message come up. Also it does not provide even basic info about imobiliser or stability system faults. In short it is about as informative as the car's built-in dashboard message system and warning lights - IOW, useless.

That's not good, can see why you gave up on it. My V2 works just fine. I would have got VIDA, but I don't own a laptop, and anything too gnarly the dealer can do anyway.
