Carb fuel leak
Afternoon. I’m hoping someone on here could shed some light on my current problems.
I’ve just put my engine back together after doing the head gasket. So far it’s not firing up, but at the moment that’s the least of my worries. There seems to be what can only be described as a geyser coming up from the carb, the carb itself is a solex cisiac(from what I’ve read on here), only it’s not just fuel, it’s water too. And a lot of it. Any ideas why both fuel and water would be shooting up through the carb? I think I’ve uploaded a picture of it, highlighting where it’s coming up from. |

hi
would this be a boat engine I think you have 2 problems 1 the flote is stuck or the flote valve has dirt under it 2 you have water mixed with the fuel so fit a extra fuel filter |

If you really have a "geyser" of water coming out of the carburettor that must be from a lot more than simply a bit of water in the petrol.
It's years since I had one of these engines, but is this the one with a water-heated inlet manifold? If so, I'd suspect that it's gasket isn't sealing and water is pouring into the inlet manifold from the engine. |
