Default Intercooler - Where to buy ?

As per subject - local independent Volvo garage has pressure tested my intercooler and confirmed that it is leaking.

They suggested I was looking at £500 to replace so I am looking at buying myself and following the guides on here to replace it.

Question is - where's best to get the replacement ? should I buy genuine volvo dealer part or is there a comparable or better alternative ?

Car is 2010 D5 UK model.

Thanks

Hi, I replaced mine with a nissens unit, brand new on eBay.

Product looked fine and my Indi fitted it with no problems.

I hope this helps.

Nissens off Ebay and fit it yourself. Make sure that you get the correct one ( sensor fitment )

Thanks. eBay have Nissens for £110 so I plan to follow the guides and get this done next weekend, but I do have a couple of questions.

I see some people take the old one out the top and others drop it out below. Any tips which is easiest on 185bhp car ?

Also if dropping out the bottom does the car need to be on ramps to give clearance ?

Thanks

If I was doing mine I would put car on ramps and drop it out the bottom.

New intercooler arrived this week so work planned for this weekend.

So starting to think of questions and first one is of I remove the bolts holding all 3 rads together how do I support water radiator and aircon radiator whilst I try to drop the intercooler out the bottom.

For example. Will the rads just want to drop or are they semi supported and just need some minor support (zip ties etc) ?

Thanks 🙏
