Other XC90 Problem: - loss of power with no fault code

Hello

I have owned a xc90 d5 2003 for the last 2 months. It's got 108k with fsh. As soon as I got the car these was a hissing noise. Found out it was a split air pipe attached to the turbo. Replaced it and got rid of 50% of the hissing noise. Then after putting in my first full tank I got 260 miles before the light came on. I done some research and cleaned the turbo control valve governor they call it. There was a complete loss of power driving as if it had two cylinders. Had it checked ou at the garage who done a injector flow test.3 injectors needed to be placed. I had all 5 reconditioned and the car reading went from 24mpg to 30mpg. It was more responsive from the get go. However my mechanic drove it and said its still does not run right. When I put my foot down it feels like the engine wants to go but its being held back. I can feel the engine vibrate when you give it some. Over two weeks it got slower and more sluggish. I cleaned the maf changed air and fuel filter, gearoil changed checked intercooler and still no change. I can't see and leaks in the hoses. Put it on a launch diagnostics with no faults. Then I hammered it out of frustration and it went to limp mode. I thought it was already in limp mode

I have just had the codes read from Volvo which showed
CCM-0021 air quality sensor internal fault.
ECM-6805 boost pressure control - faulty flow
ECM-1200 intake air pressure (IAT) sensor- signal too high
ECM-1300 mass air flow sensor signal - signal too high
EMC-5340 communication error with CEM- communication fault.

Amongst the above a couple of other errors like speaker signal.
The garage said all
The above could be a simple air leak, or a lot more. Has anyone had all these faults which was something simple to diagnose. The garage said it could be one thing which could have a knock on effect?

Or is there something I can do before spending hundreds trying to sort this out. Any help would be appreciated.

did the garage clear the faults and what came back.

No, they did not clear the faults. They recommended the car be booked in for a smoke vacuum test first, then they will take it from there. I did clean out the tcv a month ago which made no difference. I will attempt to locate a leak with a visual check this weekend before the smoke test. I feel like just buying a tcv valve as I have read it's normally sorts these kinds of problems out rather than spending 280 on a couple hours labour and a smoke test. I can't decide yet. I also cleaned the maf, no difference either. I noticed when I disconnected the maf the hum hum hum hum noise disappeared. When I attached the maf back the noise was back. This morning when started the car the hum hum hum noise was there as usual. I let the engine warm up, then the huming noise disappeared. The moment I tapped the accelerater the hum noise returned. I can only put it down to a possible air leak, tcv or maf. I hpoe the engine vibrating under load is part of the above problem. It's also drinking way too much now, it still shows 28.8 mpg in town on the display but the fuel needle drops with every journey. Does not make sense to me. I think I will have to bite the bulet and pay silly money out f frustration. Hope the weather is nice this weekend so I can have an attempt at something rather than just staring at the engine.

Thanks for the offer, I am just waiting for the smoke test to be done. The garage is very busy. Also the dash display says 28.9 mpg but i got 256 miles before fuel light came on. When I had the codes read nothing came up regarding fueling issues. Sure the above codes can't make that much of a difference in fuel?. I tried to take off the egr valve yesterday with no luck. I got as far a taking the inlet pipe off and metal thing front of the egr. It was dirty slightly clogged. I gave up then as I could not get to the flange screws on the side and back of the valve. Anyway put my foot down and the engine roared again as if there was a leaking manifold basket. Got to 3500 revs and the engine service required message came on again with limp mode. I will just have to take it to a Volvo specialist i was told about in ruslip london who have decent rates and take it from there. I will keep you updated.

Just had a smoke test done. All was clear, the garage toolkit for a test drive after explaining the roaring noise when accelerates hard. He came back after a short spin and suggested replacing maf. I replaced it myself, no change what so ever. The hum hum hum noise was still there. I the ordered a governor which will arrive tomorrow. I will keep you updated. It amazes me that a Volvo mechanic can not diagnose. Are there no professional mechanics out there.

Just replaced governor and solenoid which is attached to air box. No change what's so ever. The car still goes into safe mode at 3k revs with message engine service required. I am yet to take the car back to the garage to erase codes. I doubt it will make any difference. It's drinking too much fuel around 13mpg. No fueling issues on diagnostics either. The dash still shows 29 mpg. The way i see it I have 3 options.
1. To have a vacuum test.
2. Clean the egr valve by a mechanic as i could not take it off after the last go.
3. New turbo.

The engine roars when you put your foot down very deep noise. The car dose not smoke, I am running out of ideas. Now I have to eBay a perfect governor and solenoid.

you really need to see what codes are now stored, you can throw money at it all day long as you have done so on the hear say of a garage saying its the maf,if it was me i would go to a volvo indi or volvo dealer and get the codes read and erased and go from there.
you say you had the injectors reconditioned i am lead to believe that you can not do this on these type of injectors but i will stand corrected.
