Default 98 v70 off to the scrap yard. Drives great, still MOT'd

My red manual '98 v70 2.5 XLT (20v) has got a dodgy ABS unit and pump, failed SRS unit and needs a new heater matrix. Everything else is good on it Inc throttle body. Tyres are excellent.

I've just bought a v50 T5 to replace it. Given the bits wrong on the v70 I'm just going to remove a few easy to get off bits and weigh it in.

However, if you're interested in taking it whole or want some bits off it let me know asap as otherwise I'll take it to the scrap yard on Saturday, so I can get the tax back and get my v50 taxed and insured.

It's MOT'd until May and apart from the ABS being disabled (fuse out) it drives perfectly. The brakes (inc handbrake) are outstanding incidentally having been replaced in May 2014 inc a new caliper and hard line on the rear. Serviced ~1500 miles ago. Loads of other new bits in the last 18 months like a lambda sensor and clutch position sensor.

Full service history plus every single misc invoice back to 1998.

Nick, how much would you want for the car? seems a shame to scrap it so someone must be interested?

£300.

Here's an old picture from when I'd just detailed it

It's not quite as shiny as that right now, but it still looks smart.

I spent hours removing the trim and testing the side impact sensor and all SRS wiring and narrowed the SRS problem to the SRS controller under the handbrake. I removed this, but didn't get around to sourcing a replacement.

They look like new having only been put on ~1500 miles ago last year. Problem is I can't move the car if I take those off.

I couldn't bring myself to scrap it today. It drives too well and has had too much spent on it recently on quality parts with the intention of keeping it. I drove it to Devon and back from Sheffield a few months ago and it was a pleasure.

The tyres are Kumho with excellent tread depth.

The battery is a Bosch and only a few months old.

Put a replacement SRS module and ABS pump on it and it'll be great again. I have the part numbers.

£200 collected or can deliver within 20 miles or so of Sheffield. MOT'd until late May 2016.

Well done for not scrapping this, these cars are far too good for that, and your one looks a peach.
I'll cross post this on some other forums if that's ok.
