FOR SALE: Olive 855R Manual
So, today is a sad day. I'm selling up. I don't want to, but the wife is scared of the car; I need a car that she can drive when I need the 4x4.
(I'll get some pics done at the weekend) Here goes: I bought this car a year or so ago with the intention of bringing it back to life – it was a runner with MOT but had been neglected by its previous owners. I've given it some performance enhancements and modernised the driving experience, whilst keeping the car looking as close to standard spec as possible outside, inside, and under the hood. When I say I, I mean Shem (Shemtek) has spent a hell of a lot of time on this car getting the MAP and mods to where they are now. Mechanically (other than a couple of things listed below) I think this is probably one of the soundest 850Rs. This winter I was going to concentrate on the paintwork and fixing a few little gremlins; making this a VERY fast, well mannered car with great handling, with the intention of hanging on to it for quite a few years. The brief to Shem was to create a powerful, daily driver that could do the odd track day, rather than trying to go for the biggest BHP figure, which for the sake of those interested, is somewhere around 290BHP. This really has pretty much had a complete overhaul, the only remaining jobs now mechanically are the drop-links are rattling, and in the last 6 months, one of the valves has started rattling on acceleration a little. I've driven about 2000k with it like this and it's got no worse. I did, however, buy a reconditioned later 2.3 block with the heftier rods in it, and a reconditioned head. These are up with Shem, if you wanted them, I'm sure we can come to a deal. He was going to do a bit of porting on the head, not sure if he has or not. Modifications engine: 18T turbo - rebuilt last year (approx 6k miles ago) ME7 Jap Manifold Thermo Coupling on Inlet Manifold 3" GWE downpipe with 200cel sports cat 2.5" Jetex exhaust with large center silencer, and large rear silencer. Around town car sounds only a little louder than stock. Original Volvo DTM 'optional extra' twin tailpipe Open her up and she GROWLS! 4.4 Motronic ECU Bigger 960 MAF mated to an ME7 Airbox and a GWE 3" intake pipe (to try and keep it looking as stock as possible) Original Volvo RIP kit VXR injectors Walbro Fuel Pump This had a manual conversion, and now has an M59 gearbox, which is great New R clutch this summer I've probably missed a few things Chassis Mods: IPD ARB's Volvo strut brace Eibach Springs Bilstein B4's Subframe inserts 302 brakes up front probably missed something Maintenance: Rear Delta links done Lower Control Arms replaced last month with Meyle HD numbers Top mounts on front struts done last year Track rod ends done last year High Pressure oil lines done last year New Radiator this year New Calipers all round New rear discs New sparks and leads and dizzy this summer filter etc It's coming up for another oil change, I've been doing these every 5k Air-con was re-gassed before summer, and worked for the duration, but finally ran out of gas again a couple of weeks ago. So it all works, but there's a leak somewhere. Probably missed a bunch of things Car is on 216000miles, engine in it is on about 170000miles and came out of my T5 which also has a stack of paperwork you can look at to see that that car was well looked after too. As you can see pretty much everything has been replaced. With the 4.4 ECU and the above mods, all carefuly tuned by Shem, this car drives REALLY well. You're not just fighting wheelspin the whole time, the power comes on nice and progressively, with the M59 box giving just enough control over traction. PRICE: £2600 |

Lovely example, notwithstanding the paint scuffs. Interior is in superb condition by way of the story the pictures tell.
GLWS.

Kinda wish I hadn't just replaced about everything on my T5 as it would have been cheaper to buy this (and I could have almost justified it with the management)! lol
