Default D5 185bhp developed misfire then major error message - help

Driving home from bank holiday weekend last night.

Engine appeared to misfire occasionally which increased in frequency over 10miles, then antiskid service error appeared, followed by transmission service. It appeared to go into limp mode in 3rd gear. 2-3miles later red warning symbol appeared with engine service warning light in red. All power and drive lost although engine running but seemed rough.

At this point I pulled over and car has been trailered by AA to home, arriving at 3am.

It has done, 184000 miles, well serviced in my care from 92000miles. Recently had valve bodies replaced by automatic transmission specialist in Preston as I changed the transmission oil, which led to solenoid problems.

Attached are screen shots of the error messages in vida.

Can anyone shed light on the problem? I hope it is an injector issue rather than more gearbox issues. I want to know if I should be taking it back to a local garage or back to the automatic transmission specialists?

Many thanks for any help.

Also in my mind, having already spent to have the swirl flaps sorted, now the gearbox sorted, I was hoping it keep it for a couple of years at least. Should I be just giving up and getting rid without wasting any more cash on it?

Go to each error and check when it occurred. This is logged with kms or with a timestamp.
Focus on the errors that occurred last night: which ones are they?

Report back with the list of errors and when they occurred, and their frequency, ordered by their timing, or km.

Then you can see what happened first, and what happened as a consequence, and which errors occurred the most frequently.

That will make it a thousand times easier to produce a meaningful reply

Your misfire on cyl2 may be as simple as a bad injector electrical connection (remove connector and check if clean and dry) or as serious as a bad injector, loom break, or ECM problem....

Having fiddled this morning, I've found that the time line tab in vida is greyed out. Is this just my version or is there a way of activating? I can't see a mileage at which the fault is found either, only a traffic light symbol relating to the current cycle etc

Thought I had solved the issues by cleaning the injector connectors, all faults cleared and the car drove 1/2 a mile perfectly before all error messages returning and back to status when it was recovered.

So I've booked transport to return it to the auto transmission specialist...

Why send it to an auto trans specialist before you know if it is a transmission or an engine problem?

VIDA shows you many many parameters of each error, you can print all errors to PDF and then you get all the details.
If you don't know how to do that, read the instructions on using VIDA.
That is a much better investment of your time than anything else.
(Teach a man to fish...)

Get the details and post the PDF here.

Otherwise, this quickly becomes a waste of time for you and us.

ok I've downloaded all the error codes into a document - can someone see if they can make any sense of it?

As swiss suggested before, i would remove & clean connectors first, using an electrical contact cleaner.
