Default Water getting into the near side front indicator glass.

Hi,

Is this a known fault?

I have water getting inside the glass to the near side front indicator and twice now the bulb has cut out and I have got the fast relay sound when indicating. Giving the glass a thump seems to sort it out.

I just wondered if this is a common fault, or if someone knows where the water may be getting in, please? E.g. something being blocked...

Thanks!

Seems to be a common fault, I replaced mine with aftermarket ones that look fine, certainly look better than if they were still goldfish bowls.

Seems the adhesive holding the clear plastic to the rest of the light unit starts to give way over time and lets water in.

Ah thanks for the heads-up! Do you know where you ordered from and what part it was, please?

Thanks!

Tap your reg in to Euro Car Parts and it's under exterior lighting, nice and easy to change as well. Don't forget to put whatever promotional code they are using in as well.

I've tried scrappers and sometimes it's not worth it as half the time the cars there have the same fault!

While this probably sounds insane, I have successfully seperated bonded lenses from the units on a few different cars in the past using a combination of a heat gun and also placing in an oven at a low heat for a little while, just hot enough to soften the adhesive, and the 2 sections peel right apart, then remove the remnants of whatever it was stuck with and go for your clear sealant adhesive of choice.

Does that not affect the reflective material inside? Interesting method though!

For (nearly) clear adhesive if you never want something to come apart ever again, can recommend Plexus 2-pack glue, expensive but wonderful stuff

I did indeed go for Euro Car Parts in the end... just over £20 for a new one and it was a nice, easy fit. Thanks!
