Yummy....

Where would you even find an original brand new replacement with proper color?

Just out of interest, how much would you charge for refurbishing Xenon headlights? I'm in the UK.

My V70 R hasn't had much love recently as I've moved house and been doing house DIY.

Treated car to new wiper blades, I even read the manual and saw "the wiper blade on the driver's side is straight and has a spoiler whilst the one on the passenger side is curved." So the car now has the "correct" wiper on it.

Also booked in for trip to the local garage for an early MOT and to investigate a new clunk noise from the rear end. I suspect it needs some new bushes somewhere as I refreshed the front suspension 6 months ago but didn't touch the rear.

Passenger side bonnet catch has also stopped catching (again) but CBA taking off the bumper to fix it. Annoying as now the indicators don't flash when locking the car so you don't know if you did lock it.

Clunk noise was exhaust heat shield hitting the exhaust. Nice easy fix.

Front subframe bushing poly inserts fitted. Hopefully they make the car feel better (link)

Front poly anti roll bar bushings not installed as mechanic couldn't figure out a nice way to get them off without dropping the front subframe.

And finally car failed MOT due to a split CV boot - which seemed to be difficult to find one the right size. VIDA says they are #31256231 but some listed for the number have way too small an outer diameter (eg 70mm) where it needs to be 90mm ish.

is that the outer or inner boot

I just used a stretch boot and it worked perfectly fine still going strong

outer is easier obviously as you can just leave the shaft in and do it on the car (https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=325586)

Outer.

I found this in the end https://www.partsforvolvosonline.com...oducts_id=8046

They had it listed with the wrong dimensions on line which they updated when I queried it.

It seems the turbo V70s have a larger diameter CV joint than the non-turbo models.

My rear diff is also still slowly leaking oil but that seems like a huge job to fix - so I am just just keeping it topped up.
