Nice one!! Personally I changed an aftermarket (Ridex) VVT intake cam belt gear and had the solenoid, belts and water pump replaced at the same time. I feel that the car drives much better now it's been fixed properly than when I had the VVT unplugged but that may be opinion rather than fact.
Changing the VVT gear didn't fix everything either, I still get a bit of cam gear rattle on start-up and occasional buzz after running for a while sometimes. Those issues weren't there when I had the solenoid unplugged before. |
