Reliable years? How does the transmission hold up?
Hi all,
I'm coming from a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT 2.5 turbo, so as you can imagine a somewhat similar vehicle. I sold it a couple of years ago and wanted a replacement vehicle now. A few questions for fellow S60 owners: 1. For something around 2013 or newer, which years would be more or less reliable? 2. How well do the automatic transmissions hold up? I think most are Aisin so they should be OK? 3. Any other particular issues to look out for? I am a bit concerned about overall cost of parts and maintenance for volvo vs. japanese counterparts (acura, lexus, honda, mazda) I'm looking to avoid the T6 dual forced induction models because I don't want the cost/maintenance issues of both a turbo and supercharger. What the T5 with a tune and AWD hold up ok? I saw that TDI has a tune that pushes it to around 298hp. There are SO many variants on wikipedia, but these are the ones I'm looking at: T5 B5254T12 (T5 2.5 turbo) - 2013-2015 - 251hp T6 B6304T4 (T6 AWD and R-design - 6cyl turbo only) - 2011-2015 - 300hp T5 B6304T5 (Polestar - 6cyl turbo only) - 2014-2016 - 346hp Any I'm missing that use only a turbo? Seems like maybe a 2015 T5 plus a tune might be the best value? Worth moving to one of the inline 6's? |
