All good news then, the discs should clean themselves up as you use them and the pads bed back in, usually the emissions are pretty good on red blocks, i've had several occasions where the MoT tester has muttered he can't see the cat but it must have one as the emissions are so good.
Also had the same tester muttering "Why can i smell lemons?" after removing and cleaning the cat out inside with lemon scented dishwasher tablets! That was on a different car though, following a failed test due to a Lambda sensor failing during the emissions test! Renewed both and soaked the cat overnight in hot water with half a dozen lemon dishwasher tablets, giving it a gentle shake every so often. Rinsed, dried with compressed air then painted the outside before refitting after i'd fitted a new pair of Lambda sensors. Came up at 0.0%CO on the next test, instant pass!
