Regarding the Nappa leather problem - is this known to be a short term issue that will likely be resolved in a few months or are we looking at this as being a long term/permanent change?

Ah yes, that what I thought it was.

Funnily enough when I test drive the car originally, I found that I needed to adjust these ‘wings’ to their widest open position as when they were adjusted in, they seemed to be pinching me from both sides being too restrictive.

Hopefully if they are non-adjustable they will by default be set wider and not too pinched in.

I prefer a more loose arm chair feel than a race car hugging seat!

"Effective immediately and likely for remainder of Model Year"

The above is all we have been told at present.

We had the phone call yesterday too. Our order was a T8 XC60 inscription pro and we’ve been told we can’t have the vented nappa leather seats as there are no capacitors to make the fans work, so we have to have the standard leather seats. Been assured there will be a compensation offer, but don’t know what that is yet and the only other option will be to cancel the order. Very disappointed.

Thought I'd sign up as a soon to be (or not quite so soon to be...) XC60 owner!

Ordered an XC60 B4(D) Inscription 2 weeks ago with climate pack. Still awaiting any sort of confirmation of expected timescales, totally in the dark at the moment.

Quite concerned about the news that potentially I won't get the Inscription seats if I'm reading that correctly? Had a new Q5 bought in May and sold last week as it was so uncomfortable, one of the main reasons I ordered the XC60 was for the Inscription Nappa Leather Seats.

I have had an update this morning after almost giving up home and considering cancelling my order. My car has been completed and due to the dealer next week! Happy days!

Well, my XC60 B4 awd Momentum arrived at the dealer the end of last week, ordered end of June. Had organised for Volvo PCP finance. They sent through an
E sign message. But that did not work and referred back to dealer who said , fine , sign on the day. So arrived for handover this afternoon. Sign everything and papers sent through to Volvo finance who say sorry, we have a backlog , will take three hours to check and approve…. So have come home without the car and been promised I will get it tomorrow.
Did have the handover and tour, looks a great car, just have to be patient!

I checked in with the dealer today and my order appears to have escaped the seat supply issue . Still currently due to be at the dealer end Jan. car was ordered end June.

I hope this is the case as the seats were the main feature I liked on the inscription model. It could be just a delay in the Volvo system not flagging the problem against my order though I guess. Will wait and see.

Volvo are looking to eliminate the use of natural leather in their vehicles, current supply issues have merely advanced some of their actions so I wouldnt count on nappa being an option in the future.

Had an update yesterday evening. The sales chap told us the car is going to be supplied as ordered, with nappa vented seats and with the cooling system. Naturally, very pleased, but he wouldn’t be drawn on the delivery date, we were due delivery at the end of this month, but I’m expecting it to be delayed. I’m happy to wait and get the car we want and the kids are happy as they get to keep our XC90 a bit longer
