Default Persistent aircon woes

Does anyone else have any problems with the air-conditioning in the XC 40?

If it’s hot outside (by hot I mean anything above 18°) and I turn the Aircon on, it takes at least 10 minutes of driving feel anything like cool, even on full fan, with auto turned off.

It was so bad the other week that I took it to the garage, and they agreed that it was bad and they found there was a hole in the condenser. Three weeks later I got my car back after they fixed it, but today I did a short drive in it of 10 minutes, and I got no cold air.

How quickly, esp on short journeys, do you all get freezing cold air blowing at you when on the lowest setting?

I’ve checked and it’s not on re-circulate and it’s not on the eco-setting. So user error is ruled out .

Tomorrow I’m going to go on a longer journey to see how quickly the cool air kicks in, if indeed it does. In the meantime as anybody else found that in this car the cool air takes a long time to get going?

Sorry to hear of your woes, I haven't had issues like this in mine. Do you drive in Eco mode - as this significantly impacts the cooling/heating effects on mine. Could there be a software glitch in addition to the hardware?

Hi...no, definitely a problem with the aircon but garage can’t find out what’s wrong. So far they have had my my car for a week this time and 3.5 weeks a month ago. They don’t seem to think it’s software as they think there’s a leak somewhere in the system. It’s lost gas in the two weeks I’d had the car back after they’d replaced the condenser.
Now they are going at it from the inside!
Heaven only knows when I will get it back. Goodjob I paid for an extended warranty!

Hmmm, mine takes about 10 minutes before it starts to feel comfortable, and turning up the fan speed doesn't seem to help. There is always cold air but it seems to come out slowly.

However after 10 minutes it retains a comfortable temperature even if it's very hot outside, so I can't see how the system is leaking, I just assumed this is the way it was designed.
