Default S60 D5 2096 plastic fuel filter housing removal

Hi, new to the forum...I have a Volvo s60D5 mk1 2006 model and recently my fuel filter housing threads started leaking Only option was to replace the complete housing. Does anyone have advice or instructions on how to go about removing the plastic fuel filter housing assembly...urgent request please!!!

Before you replace the entire filter assembly, if the fuel is just leaking round the threads have you tried replacing the O ring that does the actual sealing ?

I would recommend only using genuine Volvo filter and O ring , as I have found after market ones leak.

Also check that the outer canister housing isn't cracked- if it is get a replacement from a breaker.
I believe some models and chassis numbers need a software update if you change the complete assembly. Not sure which but I'm sure someone on here could elaborate further.

Definitely don't just replace without investigating further as the solution could be simple.
Definitely do use the correct removal tool though which makes life so much easier.
