Which wheel bearing
I have a XC70 2010 205bhp just had a new clutch and flywheel by main dealer has it started to slip a little under load. After a few miles noticed the wheel bearing sounds like it's shot assume damaged when they removed the drive shaft. So looking for new bearing but seems there are two types. One has a built in ABS magnet but how can you tell which one is needed ? Also any recommendations on make ? (If I can get parts under present climate)

When I did my 2007 S80 ones on the rear, the OE supplier was SKF so I got them from Eurocarparts - same part number stamped on them as the originals which came off. These had the required ABS sensor, I had heard from this forum at the time that other makes didn't. Hope this helps.

If you believe that the dealer damaged the bearing during the clutch & flywheel, have you raised the issue with them? The timing may just be a coincidence, of course.
The parts department shoudl be able to provide you with the correct part number for the wheel bearing if you don't have access to the information yourself.

Think I found the SKF one Fer55 mentioned which does seem to have the built in ABS magnet (VKBA6531) now the issue is stock shortages.
The parts place I have always used (Andrew Page) have gone has have a few more in my area. The ones that still around are out of stock of all with the ABS magnet. Eurocarparts have cheap ones but don't mention ABS magnet on them. Don't wont to fit a cheap and nasty one which will only last 6mths. Have found one online (mail order) but company seem to be struggling to get deliveries out looking at the trustpilot reviews. This is getting silly now |

I think it is most unlikely that the bearing is failing because of anything the mechanics did when changing your clutch.
Have a look at this : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-V...saAgjAEALw_wcB On the P3 XC70 (your car) the ABS magnet (aka tone ring) is built in to the bearing, the black castellated ring that is supplied with some bearings is actually a water thrower. On your car the bearing is pressed in with a hydraulic press, not bolted into the hub.

Yep got a 12T press available to me so no issue doing it myself. Did one on my P2 V70 and what a nice and simple job it was to do simple bolt on. The P3 on the Ford platform is a bit of a pain but will get it done. Given car has done 118k might do control arms while at it. If I can find any in stock that is lol |

You'll be fine then - sounds like your well equipped and know what you're doing... they usually let go around 8T at the most.
I'd have a look at that listing I shared - that's a great price for the genuine part.
