Default Road test of the 200hp XC90

Apologies if I have missed something and am slow on the uptake but this is the only road test of the 200hp XC90 I have seen in the UK press, by Auto Express:
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carrevi...0_rdesign.html

It's a moderate review, they are complimentary about the engine without going into any detail. Otherwise it reflects most of what we already know and some of the reasons we own the car but despite saying that the XC90 is still very popular doesn't really investigate why. The point they miss as usual is the pricing; they call it a "£40K plus" car when drivethedeal will sell you an R-design Premium with metallic paint for £32K.

I saw that and made some coments on it as well. I do think that the testing press dont give things a chance as they only have them for a short time such as the sat nav or the buttons on the dash and they are easily swayed by shiny things.

Not a good article. They present a model update which is only an engine upgrade and they do not talk about the engine improvement! Instead, he found the dashboard had too many buttons! To be fair, I doubt the journalist who drove a 185bhp in 2006 could remember and compare with the current 200bhp. The person probably just enjoyed driving around for 2 hours and having a free lunch courtasy of Volvo Marlow PR chaps.

To me, the sat nav buttons are the genius part of the volvo sat nav (unfortunately, it is the only one). Much better than touch screen or Audi MMMI stuff. You can programme and change the sat nav like you do when turning the indicators on or the windscreen wipers on! I love it.
