Heated seats in a 240.
Recently fitted some fresh seats in the 240.
The blue and black wires have 12 v when the heated switch is operated and there is continuity at the seat but the seat doesn’t warm up. I know the continuity could just be a short but surely that would cause a problem elsewhere. Any ideas? Not urgent, just wondering!🤔

Are you sure there isn't a thermostatic control on the car that isn't switching in because it is too warm out? The Barge has one set at 14c, I haven't noticed it come on recently.

Thanks Alan ,I’ll check the impedance. Might be a day or so. Not good at bending atm.
If all else fails, I’ll get my brother, an ex RR electrical engineer to have a butchers. He’s only next door!🧐

Pestered brother, 2.4 ohms , so should take current at about 5/6 amps. The mystery continues!
Will check when bro comes back from choir practice!🤨

Far from wishing to teach my Granny how to suck eggs, 'Moomoo', but you will be very careful with that, won't you. I've seen a seat destroyed by fire as a result of a 'short' down there, and it could have been much worse.
I've also a feeling in my water that there was a recall by Volvo concerning this problem at the time, but I could be thinking about something else. Regards, John.
