Default EU headlight adjustment ?

Hi all,
does anyone know if the headlights on an XC90 can be adjusted for driving in Europe ? or do I need to use 'beam benders' ?
I know some cars can be adjusted, but can see nothing about this in my cars handbook.
I would be grateful for opinions on this.
Regards,
Russ

Unless you have what I call the "Active Bendy" headlights, then you will have to mask.
In the handbook, you should be able to find templates.
I used black tape, on the first XC90, that I had.

Go to link below.
Look at pages, 144, 145 & 146.
You will not see the red dots on your headlights, but tiny circle.
I used 1" wide black tape.

Hi Tem, thanks for a really helpful reply.
I had to use the link you sent me because my owners handbook does not have the templates in.
Can you just check the link yourself, to see if the template image appears in actual size ?
Cheers buddy

Yes.

For the Halogen Headlights, the masking should be, 1" x 3".
I used black electrical tape.
The hardest part, is locating the little dots, on the headlights.
Good luck.

Default France headlamp adjustment

The link below doesn't seem to work any more; does anyone know where to find a template? Or have other ideas for a temporary visit to France.

I have a 2003 XC90 with standard headlights; the dealer told me that they 'dip flat', so no adjustment is needed. But looking at them that doesn't seem to be the case.

Try this attachment, whole manual is too big to upload so I've just included the relevant pages.

It is from a MY2008 version so not sure if it is correct for your car.

Thanks - looks like that will do the job. I'll give it a go tomorrow.
