New owner S90 R Design!
Hi everybody,i just bought my Volvo S90 R design (march 2018) 2 weeks ago,it is a pleasure to drive it and so far i m verry happy with the car,but i have 2 questions and hope some of you will help me with answers.
1.. Is there any update for the system or for the maps? and how to do it?! 2.. The car have the sensors on the front bumper (they are visible) ,but they are not working at all..i try to search in the menu and all the settings, but there is nothing about front parking sensors. Many thanks to all of you, stay safe and drive safe! |

Hi and welcome to the forum!
1. In theory both system updates and map updates are available through the Download Centre app. I say 'in theory' because I don't believe I have ever seen a system update in Download Centre. Map updates definitely are available there and can be installed from there if the car is connected to the Internet. Alternatively updated maps can be downloaded from Volvo's web site at https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/downloads/maps/spa. Links here download a Volvo app to your PC or Mac that will download updated maps to a USB stick. After downloading, insert the USB stick into the USB port in the car and Sensus should automatically install the updated map. 2. Does the car definitely have front sensors, known as From Park Assist in Volvo terminology? 2018 S90's did not have Front Park Assist as standard (Rear Park Assist WAS standard) and it wasn't part of the R-Design spec. Unless it was specified as an option it may not have Front Park Assist, despite the front bumper giving that impression.

Agree - mine is the same (MY17 S90 R-Design).
The front bumper looks like it has front sensors in the middle bumper area - they are fake sensors (ready for a factory specified option?) A sure tell sign if you actually do have front sensors is if you have sensors on the sides of the front bumper corners.... Shame they weren't standard back then. (Or a rear canera in my case). I'm used the the lack of front sensors. Dealer retrofitting an official rear camera has been worth every penny. 2 years in, still love the car!!!! |
