Ok.
Still using oil at a rate of a litre every 500 miles. Breathing system I have confirmed as ok. It will suck a rubber glove inside out at idle and when revved up. I did notice some black smoke when it was revved upto about 5000 rpm in neutral from the tailpipe. Surely oil would be blue so I am guessing this is just carbon? Has anyone any other suggestions? It is running 0/30 castrol "for Volvo cars" at present. There is no excessive oil in the plastic pipe from the turbo to the intercooler. Around the tailpipe there is dry, black soot which I guess from a high powered petrol turbo is normal. |
