Now I find my self constantly checking google to double check the route.. Tonight for example google was 20 minutes quicker on my 2 hour journey compared to the quickest route on my Volvo Nav..

But other than that.. I love everything else but wouldn't recommend the nav
was this live, or was this what googlemaps told you the journey would be before you made it? googlemaps is not very accurate at all when calculating journey times. the volvo nav also might have taken you a longer route due to traffic issues.

When we bought ours, I contemplated getting the satnav, but then I read reports saying exactly what you said, that a TomTom at one-tenth the price was better than the Volvo system. So we forgot the satnav and stuck with the TomTom

There's a regular journey I take, Volvo Sat Nav tells me to stay on M62 and I know taking an earlier exit on the M1 is quicker. 10 seconds after I take the exit, sat Nav recalculates and the journey is 10miles/5 mins shorter! My Audi Sat Nav did exactly the same on this journey, maybe it's shared technology (or lack of)?
