Default 2017 XC 60 D3 Automatic Transmission

A couple of weeks ago I have noticed something on my 2017 XC 60 D3 Automatic that I hadn't noticed before. When decelerating (foot not on the throttle) and the RPM's reach about 1000 the engine revs up by itself to about 1200 RPM's (foot still not pressing the throttle). This lasts for a second or two. I took the car to the dealer today and they haven't found anything suspicious. The warranty on the car is expiring this Friday so I am a bit nervous about this. I have 40000 km in little less than 24 months and I am the first owner. Anyone had anything similar? Until this issue the car has been performing without any issues. Thanks for your input!

My S60 D5 is an auto and I have noticed that the revs rise, as you say, on deceleration. I have put this down to the downward gear changes (similar to the changes on a manual gearbox/clutch ). I could be wrong, I hope not.

Previous auto's felt as if the gearbox disengaged when the foot is taken off the pedal or going down hill. This box almost has engine breaking. It's only just noticeable physically, very gentle, but it does correspond to the revs rising.

I appreciate your input! I also do hope that this is just downshifting even though it seems to be more aggressive than it was in the past. I did report it to the dealer so if this grows into something more serious I will have a point to make. Also, there are no more issues reported on this subject on this forum so maybe it is nothing to worry about.

Mine also had the harsh shift from p or n to drive. Having been told that'Volvo don't repair gearboxes' and having an examination done by a transmission specialist.......... It went away on it's own! The only thing I did was to drive a short distance using the manual settings, both up and down the gears. Had one more episode, nothing since.

I am hesitating having the oil changed as there are horror stories on here but this runs contrary to logic.

You pay your money and take the chance.

Contrary to logic it certainly is! Volvo themselves have now withdrawn the 'sealed for life' claim for the Aisin 8 speed autobox, and now a full oil change is required at the 5 year service. If towing or Taxi use the oil change remains every second year. I regularly tow a heavy old lump of a 1962 Landrover and my 8 speed Aisin after now 90k is still silky smooth with oil changes every 2nd year. My main dealer has done it for around £150 on top of the normal service charge, which is good value when you consider the amount of oil required to flush through and a drive around by the tech.

Going in for a catch-up service so might bite the bullet. Quoted £300.
