Default XC60 boot capacity

I'm seeing two different boot capacities posted on different sites - 495L and 655L. Which do you think is right?

One figure is probably the capacity to the tonneau cover and the other is to the roof line.

Good suggestion Bej, thank you.
Just trying to figure out whether it is on a par with a a Passat or much smaller. Thoughts?

Can't help with Passat saloon, but currently I am waiting for delivery of a Passat estate GT which was ordered back in August last year. The estate boot is certainly bigger and also not so high from the ground which will help when loading my electric buggy.

Bej, we've got a Passat estate and a Golf GT hatch at the moment, I'm sure you'll really like your new car and it will be ideal for your buggy. We've been tempted by another Passat ourselves but can't get excited about spending a lot of money on a repeat purchase. Now looking forward to not having to stoop and slide things into the boot of an XC60. There's something for everyone!!

Not simple to compare different manufactures unless they both happen to use the same measuring system:
https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-adv...pacities-42010

Surprisingly the Passat B8 has a taller boot opening than the XC60
XC60 boot is wider and shorter than Passat so depends what you're carrying as to what suits best.

Boot XC60 2015 Passat Estate B8
Boot opening
Boot sill height to ground 76 62.3
Boot sill height to floor of car 0 9.1
Width of boot opening at bottom 111.5 102.5
Height of boot opening measured from floor 75 80.4
Boot space
Length of boot floor with back seats up 97 115.4
Length of boot floor with back seats down 176 196.9
Width of boot floor at narrowest point 112.5 100.5
