Default Tyre Calibration Reset

How long should it take to re calibrate the tyres? I picked up my new to me vehicle last night and the dealer put on two brand new rear tyres however whilst driving back home i had a message flash up saying Tyre pressure low on the rear tyres. I have tried the reset and have driven approx 10 mins at speeds over 40mph but the warning is still there. Any ideas or kelp gratefully appreciated

Off the top of my head it takes 30 or 40km of driving after the cal option is invoked. It's pretty clearly explained in the owner's manual (can't recall if I looked it up in the hard copy or the infotainment eVersion)

Fair point, but that wouldn't stop the system 'calibrating', as it assumes that you've already got the pressures correct and all it then does is baselines the relative rotational speeds.

There were 2 types of Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems adopted by Volvo. One being the rotational circumferencial system (which works in conjunction with the ABS system I believe) or the pain in the bottom 'in tyre' pressure monitoring system. I hope you have the former.
My in tyre system was a nightmare going off with changes in temperature particularly if parked with a wheel in full sun! If only these systems could predict an impending blowout! Had mine disabled by main dealer.

We have a very slow puncture on 1 rear tyre in our 64 reg V60, when the warning comes on we put air in and the light disappears without us having to calibrate it or start driving so I’d check the tyre pressures first and if they’re ok then try calibrating it by driving.

Cheers, Luke
