Mike I have taken that sensor off and cleaned it, (The small pipe was rather sooted up) . However that has made no difference to how the car is running. Basically if I floor the pedal when idling it is like the car doesn't want to rev at all, but then after 2 or 3 seconds of keeping it floored it will start to rev up a little, but in doing so it is rather smokey out the Exhaust.
Hope this description helps to explain things
Thanks

if all you have done is taken off the interccoler pipes then there lies the problem you would have thought i would re check all interccoler pipes take them off including the one that goes under the sump and have another look have you tried another MAF.

The Intercooler that my local Indy fitted seems to have a hole next to the outlet pipe but it has been blanked off , so I take it that I don't have a sensor there .

Ok I have fitted a new to me Maf sensor and the results are rather confusing .
To start with the car appeared to be running much better ,I was able to rev it up and the turbo was kicking in when driving it (although i still got limp mode at over 2500 revs and it was still very smokey from the exhaust).
However after a few minutes of this seemingly better performance it then reverted back to struggling to rev at all .
When you sit stationary and try to rev it ,it leaves a large sooty patch on the ground . Could this be a blocked EGR valve? Or worse, a blocked CAT?
It is driving me to despair

we need the codes and i would suspect that its ECM 6805, did you disturb any of the vac pipes to the engine mounts and to the TCV and TCG. there is a leak either in the interboiler or one of the pipes is split
