Alloy wheel swap
Im looking for a nice set of 17 inch alloys for my 2007 c70. If anyone wants to swap I have the 18inch mirzam alloys. Am happy to come and swap them.

Why do you want to swap to 18 inch? I want some Mirzam so I am interested as to why you would change them? My wheels are 17 inch 5 Spoke, sorry I do not know the name off the top of my head.

Not after a swap per say, but I have a set of 17 inch spider alloys going cheap. 2 nearly new tyres and 2 that need replacing, 2 wheels in sound nick, 2 that need a refurb due to kerb damage on the diamond finish. My Dad goes to Faversham to visit family a few times a year so if you can wait a little while you can pick them up from there. PM For a price if you’re interested

I find the 18s a bit harsh on the roads where i live thats the only reason really! But the ones I swap with would have to be in pretty good condition as the 18s are prob worth quite a bit more

Phil, be careful when swapping that the 17" wheels you get have only come from a another C70. You want width of 7.5J and offset of 45 (ET45). This will be stamped on the back of the wheel.
Of the C30/S40/V50/C70 range, only the C70 has 7.5J wheels at 16" and 17" sizes. On the other cars they're narrower, and have a higher offset of 52.5 at all sizes including 18"x8J. While they'd fit the bolt pattern on your car, they'd sit further inboard in the wheel arches. Even the same-looking styles are actually different sizes: Slackey's five-spoke wheels are called Serapis on the other cars and are 7J wide, whereas they are officially called Serapis C on the C70 and are 7.5J wide. It's similar with Sadira on the C70 which corresponds to (I think) Sagitta on the other models. I share your pain with the 18" on rough roads, I kept the Syrma's off my previous C70 and traded it in with some secondhand Sadiras on. The current car is now wearing them instead of its 18" Morpheus.

Thanks Prog,
Thats useful information!! I was starting to wonder whether they would all be compatible as I heard something about the c70 being a different width track or something.. So the only option I have is to swap with another c70 owner, does it make a difference being an auto as i think they have bigger front discs? Cheers Phill |

Larger discs are fine with 17"s, I'm running the 17" original rims from my old C70 on the current one and that's an auto. BTW I'm fairly sure I've read that there's sufficient clearance even with the 16" if you were to be looking at a set of Castulas (only fitted to the lowest trim S/ES models as standard, but the best choice for winter wheels).
The other thing that is different on the C70 from the C30/S40/V50, is tyre sizes. On the C70, 17" wheels were specced with 235/45 tyres, whereas the most common 17" on the other cars is 205/50. Tip: the C70 handbook shows that (possibly only in some markets) there was also a 215/50x17 option, which is less than 0.5% difference in the rolling radius from 235/45 and should therefore be (a) cheaper and (b) OK with insurers. I ran that size on the winter wheels I traded the old C70 in with.

Yes, the current C70 is noticeably more supple & less crashy on the 17"s than on 18"s, over the typical lousy surfaces on local or country roads. I continued to run the recommended 38PSI pressures when I swapped the wheels over. That said, even when I ran the old C70 on its 17"s at more like 34/31 so it was a bit softer, I still knew about it when on a lousy road - just not as much.
This is what comes up on a quick search on the 'Bay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202217537896

Cheers, would prefer a sway but will bear the one you linked in mind. Might see if putting better tyres on improves the ride as its running on budget landsail tyres at the moment that previous owner put on!
