I think I'm getting somewhere now with my new computer.
When I check the string angle sensor value, it's 360° off. Basically when centered my angle should be zero but it's -360. The computer has the ability to calibrate the angle sensor but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I can turn the steering wheel all the way left without any issues even though the angle is 360° off no matter where you're at. When I try to turn the steering wheel to the right, I'm okay until we get to the point where the car thinks I've turned further than The steering wheel should be able to and that's when it crashes and throws errors. Any idea what I can do to get it to be 0° when my wheels are facing forward? Is it possible that the people that replace my engine somehow installed the device 360° off? Not sure where to go from here that doesn't involve me buying a $600 piece of equipment. Especially when this one seems to work perfectly fine aside from not showing zero degrees one centered. If I do a calibration, and then immediately without moving the steering wheel go to the testing. It shows 0° until I move the steering wheel just slightly and then it jumps immediately to -360. Thanks in advance! |

Here's the wave of me moving the wheel. It starts at negative 360. I move all the way to the left and when I come back and stop slightly it's at negative 360 even though the wheels are perfectly centered. And then I turned to the right where the line flattens out is -719.99 and that's where it crashes but it's not all the way turned to the right yet when that happens.

Heads up.... I fixed it.
The shop must have taken the wheel off and rotated the sas. I did the same thing to get back to 0 and it's good now. |

Hi All
I have the same problem of a faulty steering wheel sensor. But just cannot believe the local Volvo dealer quoted £600 for one. I may have to look to a Volvo car breaker who may have a good one. Cheers Peter |
