Ta Mitch. Yours is white and mine's yellow. There's a fairly big difference in the two

Thanks for the useful link. I'm told there's a place in Exeter where I'll tell them it's Sand Yellow 97

My mate has a paint gun and a compressor. Might go down that route instead

Got a big day on him this weekend coming, probably the hardest job yet, the front end of the (non) fluted panel on the estate is quite bad so will be cutting it out and trying to make a decent repair without Adam having to fork out another £92 for a new panel.

Some pictures in this set might help you see what's under there.

Ta Derek

That's interesting as they appear to have cut the side bit off to have welded the flat bit in first. That could well make the task a lot easier

Was just thinking about buying the panel and cutting the side bit off as the bit at the bottom of the floor doesn't need doing

Is that easier?

Well I'm not the welder but if the same as the saloon the wing above rolls under and the lower panel is spot welded to that I think. The horizontal panel then goes across the floor. May or may not be as "easy" as the saloon where it come across and mates with the spare wheel well. There are some odd brackets at the rear of this panel which can trap mud and cause a rust hole below the reflector and just above the bumper, in the corner close to the join to the panel below the lower boot lid.

I've sent you some pics.

Accessibility is the issue on the estate as you can't quite get in there with the welder. You can see it's easier on the saloon where you can get right in there.

Seeing as the boot floor is difficult to get to, as I say, I'm tempted to buy the whole part and undo the lower panel which is spot welded to the bottom of the wing
