That should keep you busy for a few hours. Polishing as well?

After installing and testing, took photos of one of my excess of radios before getting it boxed up for sale.
Next took the lid off the dashboard to change the clocks. The speedo reads way over what it should and the rev counter reads 1400 instead of 900 when idling. When I bought the car I was told it had a fast tickover. Now I know that a previous owner changed the clocks AND tried to stop the squeaking plastic by running a thick beading of grease around the edge !! Because it had an SC-900 radio previously, I rather expected to find Dynaudio tweeters when I was preparing the dashboard for removal but, no, just ordinary Volvo ones. Tomorrow I'll check some of the other speakers. I wonder what else I'm going to find over time........

No! No! No! Don't do it. I'm going to to stop pretending to be a car engineer fiddler person and channel my fantasies of 1% gain elsewhere perhaps scuba gear! I've decided there isn't enough meat for me to go fiddling and that I would rather have the complete gasket coverage! I'm just going to have to be satisfied with having ported and polished this another one of my chariots Just for something a bit different cutting off the propeller guards really did add some fishpower

Donmac - I'm also a fan of Blaupunkt head units. Just this last weekend I swapped my Stockholm 370 DAB radio from my Discovery into the S70 -
This one has bluetooth phone connectivity, and replaced the temporary fitment of an earlier generation of Blaupunkt DAB - I also emptied the PAS reservoir and replaced the smelly brown fluid with some Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak. It doesn't just stop leaks, but also cures groaning, squealing and conditions all the seals in the PAS system. Instant result - no more groaning steering

Well good folks of the Volvo Family
I made a song and dance about Gates heater hoses post 523 a couple of pages back, well I've realised that I shouldn't sing or dance anymore without having first CHECKED THE FIT????????? So whilst I don't think this is the sole responsibility of the seller I've just sent them a message explaining the complication The flange on the hoses where they fit through the firewall are pressed incorrectly They are too big They do not fit, so they are complete ****E Cheers!

Yeah, I mentioned this in my vehicle thread - https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...=307645&page=4 post #32
I've reused the original fittings for now, but have bought a genuine Volvo bulkhead plate complete with the fittings which I'll fit when I replace the heater matrix. I told PFV but didn't get a response.
