I admired the absolutely clean look the new headlights give on the front end...

Yet another replacement windscreen! 4th in 4 months. First was damaged by mobile fitter along with windscreen and A pillar trims, second a temporary fit due to the first letting in water. Third time lucky… only for 5 weeks then a crack appeared overnight.
I hope this one lasts longer. The insurance company dictates the supply and fit provider who claim OE quality. I am far from convinced. They seem somewhat softer and far more prone to cracking.

Default Glow Plugs

Since buying the V70 I've had glow plug related error codes for cylinders 2 & 4 and occasionally 1. Decided to start with replacing them, didn't use penetrating oil, just drove to the woods with the doggo and had a nice walk. When we got back got to work while the engine was still hot. They came out easily but it wasn't smooth sailing, the fuel rail is very close and the socket I was using was a tad too girthy. Managed to just about do it by unbolting the fuel rail and "flexing it" enough to slide the socket onto the plugs. They were all ~1.9ohms except for plug 2 which was ~19ohms. However, I think the main issue was the plugs were 7V versions when they should be 4.4V; cowboy mechanics! Anyway, new plugs are in and no more error codes. The ultimate test should come soon when temperatures drop below 5 Celsius.

Default Fitted Front (Wide Wiew) camera

Today, I fitted the front view camera to my 2015 V70. It already had the rear view camera and I find that indispensable so I was intrigued by the Wide View front camera option. Bought the bits off Ebay (~£300) and followed VIDA, then cheated the stealers out of £50 by using VDASH to activate the 'Police Camera' and bingo, all done. There's a hell of a lot of furniture to remove just to fit the wiring though!

Replaced the air filter box with a brand new one, as I couldn't find any used ones in an acceptable condition. Now I can lean back and know that the lid isn't held on with 2 screws but all of them now! At about £180 it was not really cheap but then again, it came with an original Volvo air filter. But for some reason not the same padding inside the box...

MOT pass with no advisories.

The auxiliary belt was squeaking, especially in this colder weather. Whilst the car was in the garage (Volvo specialist), I let them replace the auxiliary belt. The tensioner isn't old, so that was left as is.
