I'm guessing we're meaning these...
Made by Thule, tragic looking and noisy if you're not careful where you place them. By the time you've a bike carrier, a roof-box or whatever, it looks like 'The Mad Scaffolder' got out The V70 equivalants are barely visible unless you're very tall(hiddden behind your roof-rails) and silent. Where you've the option and can get them, schnice. Me? I'd give up on it, put a tow bar on, and have done. Used it'd cost no more. Then get a Duuo folding trailer. Stores wherever you can push a moped, and when you're done the things keep their prices, so you'll never be out of pocket.

Yeah, it's the original genuine Volvo ones I'm after, not keen on the Thule ones especially as mines a saloon so no roof rails. I have seen them for sale before but not recently.

None of the solutions for the S70 are exactly attractive, all look like somebody's "F&*k it, that'll have to do" after-thought. The worst is the C70 boot rack. Hideous thing.
I think even the Volvo 'genuine' are badged-up Thule. Certainly any roof-bars sold today by Volvo are. Stick a towbar on and have done. Then the wholly impractical isn't. You want one of these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qx_EsMDeKMk A Duuo trailer.

Definitely don't need a trailer, I've got a ifor Williams tipper trailer that I use for my work which is towed with my Toyota Hilux. The old 850 roof bars have Volvo on the side of them and look fine and period which is what I'm after, it's to put the mountain bike carriers on.

I've got a set of roof bars like the set in the right hand picture above. I'm happy to discuss price as I never use them. We need to make sure they are compatible though. They fit on my S70.

Yeah, that sounds like the ones. As far as I'm aware they should be the same fitment. They need to be in very good condition.
