Hello folks, new forum user and relatively new XC60 owner. I have been having the strangest time tonight trying to top up my washer fluid. As in the title it probably is just me.

I have been driving my 2018 XC60 since July and had a light come on tonight to fill up the washer fluid. Opened the bonnet undid the blue cap and started to top up the fluid from a 5 litre container. I had done nearly 10k miles so was expecting to put some in sooner or later.

Almost as soon as I start I hear splashing on the floor and can see the mixture on the drive. So I stop, less than half a litre gone (most on the floor) and try again, this time very slowly, same thing. No matter what i do, the fluid does not seem to fill the reservoir and is just spilling on the floor.

Am I missing something here?

Is the filter thing in the neck blocked? Try removing it (twist and remove)

Hi, Ive tried adding the fluid with and without the filter without any success. Whats weird is that its not overflowing out of the neck like I would see on every other car I have owned (BMW, Honda, Peugeot, VW). Instead the material just spills out as if there is an overflow/hole in the actual reservoir.
