Default 2010 XC90 d5 clutch replacement

Hi guys got a xc90 d5 from 2010, it needs a clutch and flywheel, i am mechanically minded, just wondering if anyone had general repair instructions for doing the job or could send me a link

Doesnt seem to be many xc90 with a manual transmission posts.

Many thanks

Aj, i cant help with your Clutch mate, but i would look on Youtube or maybe even get a Haynes Manual.

I think 99% of us on here have an Auto.

Hope you get sorted.

DB.

There isnt much difference in changing the clutch you still have to get the gearbox out which is the biggest part of the job and method is the same with both. you need to get the angle gear off first.

Be worth looking into the tool used to instal the clutch so that the self adjusting mechanism isn’t disturbed when bolting down the pressure plate.

On the XC90 as there's so much room - I wonder whether it's quicker to life the engine out rather than drop the box - no need to disturb suspension or AWD.

I'm one of the rare few that have a manual albeit 2005MY. I've had mine done 4 times now (one unscheduled due to crankshaft seal failure oil contamination).
Didn't do it myself, but my trusted indie knows my vehicle intimately has always gone the g/box out route.
Bear in mind while it's out, consider DMF and clutch slave cylinder (I know the slave cylinder was an issue on early models) - it's the same job to come back to it if needed later.
Obviously use of a ramp makes a difference i'd imagine.

Approaching 340k on mine now - so it hasn't done bad. Still the best all round vehicle I've ever owned.

Cheers
