Default PAS pump options

I was doing my usual monthly check on the 940 this morning and I've noticed that there is a bit of a wobble on the PAS pump shaft. Not just the pulley, its the shaft that looks like its moving so I suspect a bearing has failed. It is a bit noisier today too.

What replacement do you suggest? I've seen a TRW recon one, but I was wondering what other options there are? I don't want to fit a "good used" one in case that also fails in the near future.

Thanks as always

Remeber to check whether the fluid return spigot goes straight out the back (8251726) or is angled up at 90° (8252306). There is quite a lot of choice on Aiutodoc for new non-OEM pumps but I’m not sure if they are clear on this compatibility detail.

Also, if your new one doesn’t come with a pulley attached you’ll have a whole world of pain transferring the pulley. You will need appropriate pullers and pushers dependent on whether the pump you’re working on has a 3/8” or 10mm thread. There’s some info on this and the correct tools (at a price) on the Skandix website.

Good luck!
