Inside the all-new Volvo S60 - uncompromising quality and sp
The interior of the all-new S60 takes Volvo Cars to a new dimension in terms of exclusive quality. In addition, Volvo Cars designers have added in excitement, contrast and playfulness to the rational simplicity of Scandinavian design tradition

looks like a nice place to be, that large vent where youd expect to see a stereo looks a bit odd though

I have to say that I still prefer the Original Volvo 940 to this plastic effort. Those brown seats are absolutely horrible.
It's like reading a nightmare recipe from Heston Blumenthal: "Infotainment" "The sculpted outer rear seats" "A floating effect that pronounces the sporty side bolsters" "We have focused firmly on the development of an HMI (Human-Machine Interface) solution. " What a load of absolute bull muck! Talk bloody English. I mean.........for God's sake. It's a CAR.....and not particularly appealing at all from where I'm sitting. I certainly wouldn't even bother going to the showrooms to view it. I think it's ugly, overhyped and definitely NOT a VOLVO.

Got the brochure the other day - looks a lot better with a dark interior and I like the £155 road tax for the D3! ("like" being a relative term in this case!)

Personally I think Volvo should leave the leather to Jaguar / RR and so on, stick with decent quality plastics, and drop the price. Tbh that's one of the most horrid interiors I've ever seen. It looks like they'd finished it and someone decided "oh, we need leather". With this sort of thing - my humble opinion - you either go the whole hog and match it with chrome detailing or bloody well leave it out. It's hard to pinpoint, but it looks totally self - conscious.
The actual design is a confusion between organic shapes and square. Volvo - in my memory at least - always had high quality, unashamed plastics, much like VW. Okay the interiors were a bit mundane, but they didn't fall apart either and didn't make a statement because the car itself did. Therein, methinks, lies a certain truth. It's just one more example of Volvo gone off the rails - in much the same way as SAAB under GM. I'm sure many will disagree, but my tuppence worth anyway.

I agree that brown is pretty hideous - but there are plenty other interiors (leather & cloth & probably something in between) to choose from that look fine (and use co-ordinating trim) . Perhaps not the best one to use in the launch pics, though.

That doesn't float my boat at all!
It looks like just another Euro box (not disimilar to a Ford) to me.. Having said that, if its anywhere near as good as the Mondeo is, then I will be a very good car! |

The interior looks great to my eyes, the colours they chose for the launch are all wrong though IMO.
Obviously they wanted to "make an impact", and make the car look "naughty" Personally if they've managed to make it genuinely good to drive I think they could be on to a winner. |
