Default Volvo 340 1.7 GLE 5-door Nov. 1988 F reg

£150 o.n.o

It's a runner, but no tax and no MoT. It was being used every day by its previous owner, until July 2010 when it failed its MoT (see below). The engine runs smoothly.

From the VT30, here's what it failed on:

1. N/S front Macpherson strut - excessive movement in upper support
2. O/S front Macpherson strut - excessive movement in upper support bearing
3. Driver's door handle, exterior lever missing
4. O/S windscreen wiper does not clear the window effectively
5. Front reg. plate damaged
6. Parking brake ratchet-mechanism is broken
7. Parking brake efficiency below requirements.

With regard to 1 and 2, I've driven the car. I'm not a mechanic or gifted enthusiast, but it drives OK although turning the steering wheel feels a little heavy.

With regard to 6 and 7, the handbrake works albeit you have to pull out the button by hand; i.e. once you've pressed the button in it does not spring back out again.

I bought the 340 only recently as I wanted a car to get me to and from a new job.. I found out pretty quickly that the parts required for it to pass its MoT are not readily available. I'm only looking to get my money back.

You MUST collect from me! I am in Deal, Kent.

By the way, there's no apparent major bodywork damage (just some scratches); I took the photos when the sun was out and the passenger door shows some strange reflections of the house and 'garden', they're not dents!.
