Default Volvo 165 on ABBA documentary

I was watching a documentary on ABBA the other night....not through choice I hasten to add.....and they used a Volvo 165 to tick the whole Swedish export schtick. Green one....is it known to us? Looked great....

I didn't see the programme, but there is a well known green 165. I was a period conversion of a 164, restored by (I think) a motoring journalist in the last few years.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, there's a Facebook page with lots of information, photos and videos of the car.

Default 165

HI All
When I was the 164 register keeper I checked if I could take the front from a 164 and weld it to a old 145 that I used as my second car I checked the location of the spot welds on both cars and they matched so if you want to just get the donor cars and the welder out and bobs you uncle.

....and if anybody wants a 164 to begin this conversion I have one with decent front wings (the expensive area to replace) and engine, on a private number plate but with a bashed-in rear end. Can even source a 145 if interested - so what's keeping you? This sort of offer doesn't come up often.
