SRS Light
So after a number of weeks I finally got a replacement seat belt unit. Unfortunately as I had to move the car in the intervening period, I have generated an SRS light. Any ideas on how to de-activate this light? Disconnect battery overnight? I have a flash code reader but cannot see which ECU the code is generated on. The Fuel ECU is clear of codes

Had this problem on my P2 model after disconnecting a rear seat belt plug, ended up getting main dealer to de-activate warning light.
Don't think it can be done without dedicated Volvo diagnostic equipment...may be wrong though... |

If there is not secret system, does anyone have a link to a good diagnostic tool that is compatible with a 1997 850. Not OBD2 compliant with the code reader underneath the coin holder?

Thanks. I don't have an android phone so thats something to think about. Might give the main stealer a call tomorrow to ask if they still have the kit. Becoming a real labour of love this car.

So i bit the bullet and bought a cheap android phone from argos and downloaded the software. The GUI is a bit difficult to follow but I got there in the end and SRS light cleared. Thank you very much for the steer. Only cost me a little more than the main stealer were asking for and I have the software and phone for good now. All set for the MOT next Monday.
What a nightmare it has been. Arguably the most tricky item, the rear spring cups was tge easiest. Sourcing a brake pressure sensor was tricky as they are discontinued as are the seat belt tensioners. It took me two weeks to get a replacement what with Hermes losing one, then finding it again. Fingers crossed now |
