Spotlights
Anyone ever added a set of spots/ driving lamps to the front of their xc90.
I have a pair of 6" Cibie Oscar Spots and a pair of 6" Cibie Oscar Driving lamps that have sat in the garage for years doing nothing as id nothing to put them on. Not sure they would have suited the front of my e60 or Citroen C4 Anyone done similar to their XC90 or pics of others that have? Thanks, Anton |

There is a proper mounting kit available from Volvo for driving lamps and, I believe, a connector in the engine bay.
That would then be controlled by a switch that you would insert into the switch panel below the radio. Driving lamps will only operate on main beam as standard but obviously it's possible to rig up anything you like (which may or not be legal...) Do some research on here and you will find lots of good info from previous posts. Edit - Here you go https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...=driving+lamps Cheers Dave PS I had similar Super Oscars on a car of mine years ago - they really are great. |

Ah I remember that thread well....
The Volvo bracket bolts to the bumper crash bar behind the number plate and I believe is intended for smaller, light weight lamps. I did manage to buy one on e-bay and never used it as it wasn't up to it. I did make some brackets that bolted the top of the crash bar and poked through the vents in the grille at the top of the bumper and they took the heavier 6" HID lamps I had. Top honest though - it didn't look right, modern cars (even 15 year old ones) don't carry the extra lamps as well as a Mk 1/2 Escort or Opel Manta. The other problem is the lights sit well forward of the bumper so if like me you use the car occasionally to move straw bales around or park close to walls - it's inevitable that at somepoint the light will get pushed back into the bonnet and dent it before the bumper itself makes contact. So I took mine off a few weeks later. The extra light was great though.

Thanks lads.
TBH its the older model so its not going to win any prizes in aesthetics. It was bought for the wife to cart the kids around in, to carry stuff in the boot and to tow trailers so its pretty much a function over form vehicle so goofy looking lights arent an issue lol I think I will make up a set of brackets myself to mimic the volvo type that way I can set the lights where I want. |

Thanks Dave, I must warn though that it could be slow going. 3 kids with the youngest only 6months means time out with the cars is limited!
