I dont know if this aplies for you, but a cap drove me crazy in a 850, I thought was the O ring leaking pressure and steam, but no! It was a thin line of pvc fatigue in the tank itself. There was a macroscopic crack in almost a third of the circunference. I have to replace the expansion tank, but its not so easy for me living in argentina, I have to wait it until the ebay delivery gets here and Ill be very lucky if it does not ends up in customs office for ever.
